Tax return reviewer

Job Description

The Tax Return Reviewer plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax filings by thoroughly examining returns and detecting potential errors. This position involves applying tax codes correctly, reviewing documentation meticulously, and communicating moderately with clients to clarify any issues. The reviewer will need to be familiar with Ultratax, and occasionally collaborates with other departments to support seamless tax processing.

• Examine tax returns for accuracy, completeness and adhere to budgeted time frames
• Detect and address errors or inconsistencies in tax filings
• Apply relevant tax codes and IRS regulations consistently
• Review supporting documentation for compliance and legitimacy
• Communicate moderately with clients to resolve issues and clarify information
• Use Ultratax to process and review returns
• Collaborate occasionally with other departments to enhance tax processes

• 5+ years of experience in tax return review that is directly processed
• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field
• Proficient with Ultratax
• Strong knowledge of IRS regulations
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Effective communication and client interaction skills
• Time management and problem-solving abilities
