Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Manager

Overview

Assumes responsibility and accountability for laboratory operations within a Sentara facility. Responsible for the delivery of high-quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Analyzes patient data and suggests physician protocol for confirming patient diagnosis; acts as a consultant to pathologists, physicians, and other team members; identifies needs and implements training to ensure laboratory staff competency.

• Coordinate the development and implementation of new lab services within the Sentara facility.
• Contribute to the organization's success by achieving system, hospital, and departmental goals and objectives.
• Set strategically aligned goals for the team, develop staff and intentional successors.
• Use effective strategy and apply appropriate leadership style to facilitate change.
• Have a strong understanding of the business operation and demonstrate acumen.

• A bachelor’s degree in the Sciences is acceptable. Education, knowledge, and certification must be received within the specific department discipline to which one applies.
