Radiation Therapist

Overview

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Deliver external beam radiotherapy (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment
• Perform patient simulation, including immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
• Review patient records for accuracy
• Act as liaison with physicians and supportive care personnel
• Maintain patient records, reports, and files

First (Days)

Associates level degree required. Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of an Associate degree will also be considered.

• ARRT Radiation Therapy – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and must pass boards within 6 months of hire.
