Location: Morrison Healthcare at University of Virginia Medical Center

Setting: Large acute care/teaching hospital Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm, ~6-8 Saturdays/year

Requirement: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible

This full-time position offers a balanced and well-rounded experience providing adult inpatient acute care coverage across a variety of service lines and patient populations. It is an excellent opportunity for both new and experienced Registered Dietitians. You will collaborate closely with nursing, licensed independent practitioners (LIPs), therapy services, case management, and social work to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Specific

Responsibilities Include:
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to adult patients (18+) including comprehensive nutrition assessments, individualized diet modifications, and patient-focused nutrition education.
  • Partner effectively with licensed independent practitioners (LIPs), providing confident, proactive recommendations and advocating for appropriate enteral and parenteral nutrition interventions to optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within UVA's integrated electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and internal education.
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative team
