Description:

This unit is a 12-bed setting employing critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate level.
Patient populations primarily include those transferring from ICU.
Common diagnoses include neuro trauma, hemorrhages, post-operative spine cases, and various neurological conditions.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3.
Staff are expected to work 3 days per week, with every other weekend and holiday.
Travelers will be allowed up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off.
Candidates must adhere to floating policies.
An understanding of specific neuro and surgical care protocols is essential.

Experience with equipment such as IV insulin protocols, BPAP/CPAP, and arterial line management is required.
The unit collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
Candidates should possess the skills necessary for managing cerebrovascular incidents and post-operative care.
Daily census averages approximately 10 patients.
The unit focuses on diverse neurological and neuromuscular disorders.
Candidates should communicate any existing vacation plans prior to submission for scheduling accuracy.
Nursys verification is required.
BSN is preferred.
