Respiratory Therapist - NICU
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care for patients in the NICU and PICU. Work will also involve supporting high-risk deliveries and acute care pediatrics. Candidates must be comfortable working across various units. The unit employs a self-scheduling model that will be explained during the interview. The successful candidate will be expected to work every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays.
Daily responsibilities include managing patients with a variety of respiratory conditions and performing specialized procedures. The role may involve the use of advanced equipment such as high-frequency jet ventilators and nitric oxide therapy. It is essential that the candidate possesses the competency to care for neonates, infants, and pediatrics. Strong collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is a crucial part of the role.
Candidates should be adept in interpreting arterial blood gases and assisting with intubation when necessary. The facility provides a range of primary and specialty pediatric care. Experience in pediatric critical care is highly valued.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in NICU, with Cardiac PICU experience preferred. License:
Valid state license required; pending licenses accepted if temporary license can be obtained before start.
Certifications:
RRT, BLS, NRP required; ACCS preferred. Must-Have:
Level 4 NICU experience; strong communication and critical thinking skills; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
