PRN/Flexi NightsPRN/Flexi Days Full Time Night Shift The Monitor Technician observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

This position will rotate between all areas of the hospital with cardiac monitoring patients with the exception of the LDRP and Emergency Departments.

The Telemetry/Stroke team at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Each Monitor Technician can expect an average of 20-36 patients per shift.

Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required.
1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.

Certification/Licensure Successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

Experience1 year of experience as a Monitor Tech preferred

Experience in acute care setting preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
