Opening in April 2026, the Virginia Guesthouse is a 214-room hotel featuring 25,000 square feet of conference and event space located on the beautiful Grounds of the University of Virginia. Making its debut in the spirited WAHOO community, the Guesthouse will offer a vibrant and inspiring setting for guests, conference attendees, faculty, and students alike. Responsibilities Include:

• Check in guest in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.
• Assure that guest is assigned type of room requested and the correct rate is charged.
• Arrange for luggage to be delivered to guest room and issues correct keys to the guest.
• Check out guest at end of stay and ascertain guest satisfaction.
• Collect keys, posts late charges and presents bill upon check out
• Settle bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
• Maintain a balanced bank assigned by the hotel.
• Email the guest regarding any late charges processed to their account after their check-out (when proper email is available).
• Make change, cashes checks, exchanges foreign currency.
• Reconcile all transactions at the close of each shift and to cash out.
• Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.

What are we looking for?

• At least one year in a customer service role with high guest interaction
• Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to solve problems when they arise.
• A strong desire to make an impact on other people
• An outgoing and engaging personality
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
• Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Compensation:

$19.00
