Marketing Cloud Developer

Are you a Marketing Cloud expert ready to serve as the platform lead within a high-impact IT delivery team? The role provides guidance and oversight to Marketing specialists and developers through all phases of the software development lifecycle to deliver and maintain solutions which leverage best methods and practices for creating marketing automations.

The Marketing Cloud Lead is a member of the IT delivery function at CFA Institute and serves as the platform lead for the Marketing Cloud platform. The role provides guidance and oversight to Marketing specialists and developers through all phases of the software development lifecycle to deliver and maintain solutions which leverage best methods and practices for creating marketing automations. The role also involves collaborating with the product owners to shape the road map for the Marketing Cloud platform.

The position may be 100% remote but must be available for periodic travel to CFA offices in Charlottesville, Washington, DC, or New York City and reports to the Salesforce Platform Owner.

• Define and enforce standards and practices for Marketing Cloud development, configuration, and deployments
• Architect, design, and develop customizations utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Lead Marketing Cloud data modeling and architecture including data extension modeling
• Manage the Marketing Cloud knowledgebase at CFA and serve as the primary point of contact for technical questions related to the platform
• Partner with the product owners to develop the road map for the Marketing Cloud platform.
• Supervise configuration and code changes on the Marketing Cloud platform.
• Support IT and business teams with triaging production support issues
• Train and support Marketing specialists and junior staff

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Marketing Cloud
• Experience with amp script, journeys, automations, Marketing Cloud Connect
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation.
• Experience in technology implementation for full lifecycle/enterprise software projects.
• Well‑rounded in both functional and technical aspects of a CRM or Digital Marketing engagement.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and be creative within a team.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem‑solving environment
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and assign tactical requests to the team

Expected salary range: $115,000 - $190,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) or pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
