About the Role
Senior Data Scientist – Grade Level 10 – S&P Global Corporate.

London, UK (hybrid – 2 days onsite per week). Work with the Collection Platforms & AI team to develop machine‑learning powered products and capabilities for natural language understanding, data extraction, and information retrieval.
- Develop and deploy large‑scale ML and Generative AI (GenAI) powered products and pipelines.
- Own all project lifecycle stages: exploration, prototyping, development, deployment, monitoring, and scaling of models through the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, proof‑of‑concepts, model benchmarking, and validation experiments for both ML and GenAI approaches.
- Partner with business leaders, domain experts, and end‑users to gather requirements and align on success metrics.
- Follow coding standards, perform code reviews, and optimize data science workflows.
- Evaluate, interpret, and communicate results to executive stakeholders.
- Strong grasp of statistics, probability, and the mathematics underlying modern AI, including linear programming and optimization.
- Experience with large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama), prompt engineering, fine‑tuning/customization, and embedding‑based retrieval.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in Python (Num Py, Pandas, Spa Cy, scikit‑learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow2, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Knowledge of ML & Deep Learning architectures for NLP (transformers), GNNs, and multimodal systems.
- Solid understanding of database structures and SQL.
- Competence in orchestration and deployment tools:
Airflow, Redis, Flask/Django/FastAPI, SQL, R‑Shiny/Dash/Streamlit. - Ability to conduct independent research, synthesize current AI/ML research, and apply new methods in production.
- Experience with end‑to‑end GenAI or advanced NLP projects such as NER, table extraction, OCR integration, or GNN solutions.
- Public contributions or demos on Git Hub, Kaggle, Stack Overflow, technical blogs, or publications are a plus.
- Advanced technical degree (Master’s or higher) in STEM.
- 5+ years of professional experience in AI or building statistical/mathematical quantitative models in production.
- Experience product ionizing AI applications and working with multi‑modal LLMs that integrate vision and text for autonomous agents.

Compensation & Benefits (US)Anticipated base salary range: $90,000–$160,000, based on location, experience, and qualifications. Eligibility for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits as described in the company's benefits portal.
Compensation & Benefits (Canada)Anticipated base salary range: 95,000
CAD–140,000
CAD, based on performance, geographic location, and qualifications. Compensation commensurate with Ontario regulations effective January1,2026, and inclusive of company benefits.
