As a Principal Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist - Level 3 located in Charlottesville, VA you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. What You Will Get To Do:
* Source and procures specialized goods and services
* Owns contractual management of the supplier
* Responsible for source selection from contract proposal to execution phases
* Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end-users
* Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services
* Prepares Request for Proposal package, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts
* In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
* Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations Candidate will also manage performance of subcontracts, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers. Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in government contracting

- Master's Degree and 3+ years of government contracting experience for a level 3. We will consider 9 yrs of relevant government procurement experience in lieu of a degree.
* Familiar with FAR provisions and Global Supply Chain policies and procedures
* Ability to obtain & maintain a US Government security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
* Experience working with cradle to grave subcontract administration
* Experience preparing subcontractor Request for Proposal (RFP) packages in support of the acquisition process
* Experience providing accurate supplier invoice and accrual forecasting
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's Degree
* Experience managing major subcontracts
* Experience managing various subcontract types (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Incentive or Fixed Fee, Time & Material, Labor Hour, IDIQ, etc) #MPR What We Can Offer You:
