The Parks Division's Aquatics Maintenance Supervisor performs responsible work participating in and supervising the day-to-day maintenance of aquatic facilities (indoor pool, outdoor pools, spray grounds) operated by Charlottesville Parks & Recreation.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and participating in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all department aquatic facilities.
- Ensuring and/or preparing spray grounds and pools for opening.
- Ensuring and/or checking pools and spray pads throughout the day to determine maintenance needs.
- Assessing issues and concerns as they arise; providing recommendations to manager as needed.
- Directly supervising, planning, scheduling, and participating in the evaluation of assigned staff.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in aquatic facility maintenance, plumbing, or general building maintenance including 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facilities Operator within 6 months of hire.
- CPR and First Aid Certification within department established timeframe.
Preferred hiring amount for this position is between $26.81 - $32.95 an hour ($55,764.80 - $68,536.00 Annually).
