Maintenance Porter

This role is a critical part of our facility maintenance team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks per checklists and supervisor direction to remove dirt, dust, litter, and debris from all facility areas using brooms, mops, brushes, and hand tools.
  • Walk the garage daily to note and resolve maintenance problems.
  • Sweep and pick up around entrances, exits, stairwells, and other surfaces; clean rails, booths, offices, and restrooms.
  • Empty trash cans throughout the garage, booth, and office.
  • Paint surfaces such as poles, signs, doors, walls, curbs, islands, gates as directed by the facility manager.
  • Replace burned out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
  • Submit repair or maintenance requests.
  • Check condition of safety items, gate arms, ticket spitters, gates, and ensure proper operation and appearance.
  • Provide ticket and gate counters to the manager.
  • Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and a garage/lot sweep sheet.
  • Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, and outdoor equipment such as weed eaters, lawnmowers, or other electrical tools as needed.
  • Shovel, plow, or blow snow from entrances/exits and designated areas using appropriate equipment.
  • Report any violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the facility manager promptly.
  • Employ “Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction” and five customer service behaviors to ensure successful interactions.
  • Assist customers within the facility or as directed.
  • Resolve customer complaints independently or with a supervisor.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of operation and cover other duties such as cashier or attendant on an as‑needed basis.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance, arriving in uniform before and during shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education / Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; may require facility maintenance, electrical, or painting experience or training.

License Requirement: Valid state‑issued driver’s license if required to operate company vehicles.

Availability: Availability for 3rd shift or weekends as required.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communication; strong customer service; adaptability; sound judgment; professionalism;
English literacy.

Physical Demands: Frequent use of hands, ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, twist, bend; lift ≥50 lbs regularly; ability to work in dust, chemicals, extreme weather.

Salary Range

$16.00 – $18.50 per hour
