• Always follow and help enforce safe practice and rules.
• Works from the ground to keep the work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gasoline‑powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas.
• Set up and break down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment; keep trucks and other assigned equipment in neat and orderly fashion; report the need for major repairs to truck and equipment.
• Tie knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standard.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
• Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.

This is a full‑time position. Specific hours will be assigned by your supervisor. The Groundsperson may be required to work overtime and/or weekends.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required. CDL preferred.

Position requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
