The General Manager leads the operating unit, driving a strong safety culture, financial performance, and operational excellence. This role inspires high-performing teams, ensures exceptional service delivery, and fosters customer relationships while managing resources, assets, and compliance. Essential Functions:

  • Be a cultural ambassador – foster engagement, alignment and excellence within the business and community enabling a destination workplace.
  • Promote and reinforce our strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all regulations while fostering a proactive, safety-first mindset across the team, including but not limited to hazard identification, injury prevention and driving excellence.
  • Acting in the interest of the Company and using independent judgment, this position has the authority over and recommends hires, transfers, suspensions, layoffs, recalls, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, and discipline over teammates assigned to him/her.
  • Closely monitor all potential liability, safety or critical human resource issues and update Regional Vice President as appropriate.
  • Monitor field and office recruiting activities for organizational unit; perform recruiting activities, with the assistance of the Talent Acquisition team, as required and appropriate to ensure that a sufficient quantity of highly qualified personnel are in the company’s employ at all times
  • Ensure New Hire/Orientation procedures are followed by team leaders for all new employees and employees are integrated well into the team.
  • Lead your team’s talent management process and assist your team with creating career development plans for their respective teammates.
  • Drive the development and scheduling of structured in-house training programs, apprenticeship programs and outside training to ensure the professional and personal growth of the team.
  • Work with sales and account managers to assure on time customer renewals and proactively position contract price increases.
  • Collaborate with the projects team to ensure project selection and execution drive consistent financial performance
  • Ensure that processes are utilized for Business Development activities (CRM, go-no-go, bid reviews, signature approval authority) as well as emerging sales and prospecting tools.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the service business strategy and lead planning and execution to deliver growth while partnering with the Regional Vice President for long-term alignment.
  • Direct annual budget and capital expenditure planning to support sustainable growth, ensuring transparency with the Regional Vice President.
  • Manage teams in the planning and execution of projects and quoted work to meet or beat estimates, and exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Ensure that all services are performed and delivered in accordance with company/industry’s best practices through the oversight of managers and supervisors.
  • Monitor quality control procedures and drive process improvement.
  • Immediately address all customer service issues by developing plans and steps to correct those issues and ensure future success with customers.
  • Monitor financial performance and adjust business recipes to meet or exceed budget and goals
  • Review all teams’ financial performance and cost control and develop plans to address gaps in performance.
  • Manage labor costs by developing annual wage plans and keeping wage increases within annually defined guidance.
  • Assist the team with the monitoring and control of manpower, inventory, tools, and vehicles to ensure efficient and effective use of all departmental resources.
  • Participate in management training and coursework as appropriate during your tenure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
