We are looking for you to join our team as General Manufacturing Manager 1 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities. The General Manufacturing Manager 1 will have organizational responsibility for test technicians. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.
What You'll Get to Do:
* Provide leadership direction in areas such as:
Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, ISO
9001and all auditable processes.
* Provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
* Drive employee efficiency.
* Meet product cost and schedule targets.
* Manage to department budget.
* Manage the area to produce quality products.
* Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce. This position is contingent upon proposal/task award. Basic Qualifications for the General Manufacturing Manager:
* Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment; will also consider a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
* At least one year of experience managing or leading people or projects
* Experience in MS Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
* The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance
* U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current Secret clearance
* Experience as an electrical or test engineer
* Experience managing manufacturing assembly and test
* Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business
* Prior program, project and/or people management, cross-organizational, process improvement experience
