We are seeking a Senior Pastor to lead our historic congregation in Charlottesville. This role requires strong pastoral experience, theological soundness, and a commitment to evangelism and discipleship.
The Church cooperates nationally with the Southern Baptist Convention and statewide with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia.
Qualifications- Pastoral experience: 5‑10 years leading a congregation with multiple staff members; 3‑5 years as Senior Pastor preferred.
- Education:
Master’s degree required;
Doctorate preferred. Degree must be in Divinity, Theology, or Ministry from an accredited seminary. - Theological alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Sermon preparation and delivery.
- Personal prayer, Bible study, and meditation.
- Discipleship and shepherding the congregation.
- Leading church staff.
- Evangelism.
- Promote and sustain unity within the church.
- Serve as a moral and spiritual leader in the community, reaching out to the world for Christ.
- Preach the Word in a way that is relevant to all generations.
