Role OverviewThe Medical ICU is a 28‑bed adult ICU that provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care to critically ill patients. Nurse‑to‑patient ratios are typically 1:2. The unit employs over 120 nurses with more than 750 years of combined experience. This position requires proficiency in ventilators, vasopressors, and intravascular monitoring, and it offers a team‑focused, patient‑centric environment.

- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within five years of hire. - Experience:
1 year of relevant nursing experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping, proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs.; may be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
CompensationStarting base rate $39.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by qualifications, prior work experience and/or education.
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre‑employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety‑sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
