About the RoleThe 20‑bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU) serves patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart and lung transplantation, TAVR, esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, and aortic aneurysm repair. Nurses care for patients who require mechanical circulatory support devices, ECMO, and postoperative recovery, staying for a minimum of 24 hours or longer as needed.

- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. - Experience:
1 year of relevant experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping, lifting or pushing/pulling 20–50 lbs. Requires proficient communication, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, and legible writing. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
CompensationThe starting base rate is $39.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre‑employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires. All safety‑sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
