** The Role*
* As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Centers, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a focused outpatient environment. This role balances efficiency with clinical rigor and allows nurses to deliver high-quality care in settings intentionally designed for safety, flow, and patient experience.

In this role, you will:

+ Deliver perioperative nursing care including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery

+ Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe and seamless procedures

+ Applyevidence-based practice and standardized protocols to support patient safety andoptimaloutcomes

+ Maintainaccuratedocumentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Graduate of accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience:

1 year of nursing experience.

Licensure:
Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive);
Repetitive motion: computer keyboard.  Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills;
Attention to detail and ability to write legibly;
