This is a full-time rotating shift position in Charlottesville, VA. Hours will be confirmed based on business needs. Night shift 7p to 7a, day shift 7a to 7p.

Our Medical/Surgical Unit specializes in Neuro Oncology, urology, vascular, and chest tube care. We provide a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduates. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, you'll develop skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. We care for a diverse patient population, including CHF, COPD, oncology patients with neutropenia or new diagnoses, and amputations. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career.

The RN is responsible for performing competent nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process. Standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care‑ teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
- Bachelor of Science Nursing—BSN or MSN (preferred).
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- Registered nursing license (required).
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire.
- None required.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred).
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred).
