Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery- Part Time

Part Time Registered Nurse – LDRP (Night Shift)

Location:

Charlottesville, VA.

Shift: Third (Nights).

Hours:

Two 12‑hour shifts per week with a 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday; required call 16‑24 hours per 6‑week schedule. Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for qualified candidates.

Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Part Time Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. The LDRP unit includes a Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery with a 1:1 ratio for a 24‑bed post‑partum mother/baby unit and a 1:3 nursing ratio for intermediate care babies. The unit also offers post‑operative care for complex GYN and breast surgical needs and is staffed by a 100‑member team cross‑trained to offer best‑in‑class healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex cases in fast‑paced environments.
  • Communicate with patients and providers to ensure safety and quality care.
  • Work nights and handle required call and weekend coverage.
Qualifications
  • Registered nursing license required; education diploma, BSN, or MSN preferred.
  • Certification: BLS within 90 days; NRP within 6 months; EFM optional;
    Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred.
  • Experience:

    2 years acute‑care RN experience in women’s health; experience in charge roles preferred; labor and delivery specific experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.
