Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Position
University of Virginia – Charlottesville, VA. UVA Health’s Department of Anesthesiology employs an anesthesia team care model. The CRNA is a critical team member providing general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in various settings, including Main OR (vascular, trauma, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, GYN, plastics), outpatient surgical services, obstetrics, pediatrics, and off‑site locations such as the outpatient endoscopy center, cath lab, MRI, and interventional radiology.
No on‑call, holidays, or weekend duty; weekend and evening shift differentials available.
Vacation: 26 days PTO/vacation & 1 professional development week. Salary range: $210,000 – $250,000 based on experience. Sign‑on incentive and relocation assistance available.
Responsibilities- Participates in pre‑anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
- Formulates a patient‑specific plan for anesthesia care in collaboration with an attending anesthesiologist.
- Implements monitors and adjusts patient’s physiologic condition as appropriate for the type of anesthesia and specific patient’s needs.
- Transfers responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post‑operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supports operating room procedures.
- Participates in additional areas of responsibility within the expertise of the individual CRNA.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Education:
Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program or eligibility to practice as a CRNA in Virginia. - Experience:
No experience required. - Licensure:
Licensed Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Virginia;
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Virginia. - AHA BLS certification required.
- Job requires prolonged sitting, bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
- Repetitive motion such as squeezing an ambu bag.
- Proficient communication, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50‑100 lbs and >100 lbs.
- May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, heat, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
