Unit Coordinator; RN Surgical Short Stay

Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Surgery Unit 1 – Observation Short Stay. This is a full‑time night (12‑hr) shift position (Third Shift) with weekend rotation.

• Provide clinical leadership for nursing care delivery in the short‑stay surgery unit.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives, simplify workflow, and promote staff development.
• Support staff satisfaction and deliver Gold Standard patient service.
• Coordinate with Unit Coordinators, Resource Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and the education team for orientation and ongoing training.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
  Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Registered Nursing license (RN) required; BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 18+ months of acute‑care RN experience required; post‑surgical area experience preferred.
• Same‑day surgery experience preferred.
• Professional specialty nursing certification preferred.
