Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre/Post PACU Outpatient Centers

As a  
** Pre/Post PACU RN** , you will practice at the top of your license across multiple outpatient surgical settings, gaining exposure to varied patient populations, procedural specialties, and care delivery models. * In this position, you will provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures, managing both pre-operative readiness and post-anesthesia recovery across multiple sites. The environment is fast-paced, patient-centered, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on safety, throughput, and exceptional patient outcomes.

You will work across three distinct outpatient centers, each offering unique clinical exposure:

** UVA Outpatient Surgery Center*
* + Broad patient population spanning  
** pediatrics through geriatrics*
* + High-volume setting with  
** 40-60 patients per day*
* + Large-scale operation with  
** Phase I and Phase II recovery rooms and bedded capacity*
* +  
** Surgical Care Riverside*
* + Focused outpatient surgical experience with  
** 4 operating rooms*
* + Moderate daily volume of  
** 25-50 patients*
* + Strong patient satisfaction culture and efficient throughput workflows

** Orthopedic Center at Ivy Road*
* + Specialty-driven environment focused on  
** orthopedic surgery*
* + Features  
** pre- and post-operative rooms and extended-stay capabilities*
* + Growing surgical platform with planned OR expansion

** A typical day includes** :

+ Conducting  
** pre-operative assessments** , patient education, and care coordination

+ Monitoring and managing patients in  
** Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery*
* + Collaborating with anesthesia, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members

+ Ensuring safe discharge planning and patient readiness for outpatient recovery

+ Maintaining high standards for  
** patient experience, quality, and safety metrics*
