Registered Nurse; RN - PACU

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Monitoring:
  Assess, observe, and continuously monitor post-anesthesia patients, closely tracking vital signs and levels of consciousness.
• Airway Management:
  Ensure patient airway patency and assess for any immediate post-operative complications.
• Pain Management:
  Administer prescribed medications and execute comfort measures for effective pain management and nausea control.
• Collaboration:
  
  Partner closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the broader healthcare team to coordinate seamless patient care.
• Discharge &
  
  Education:
  
  Educate patients and their families regarding post-surgery recovery and at-home care instructions.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program; BSN preferred.
• License/Certification:
  Active, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
• Certifications
  
  Required:
  
  BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 1-2 years of RN experience required, with prior critical care or PACU hospital experience.
