Advanced Practice Provider (APP/PA/NP) Inpatient and infusion Cellular Therapy / Stem Cell Transplant Program, Hematology-Oncology

UVA Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Cellular Therapy / Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) Advanced Practice Provider team within the UVA School of Medicine's Division of Hematology‑Oncology and UVA Health's Center for Advanced Practice. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a nationally recognized academic medical center that values education, innovation, and professional development.

Schedule & Hours
  • Three weekends per month in the Cancer Center Infusion Center – 8‑hour day‑shift sessions.
  • Two weekday inpatient shifts (12 hours each) on the Cellular Therapy/SCT APP service (Monday‑Friday).
  • Day‑shift position with no overnight responsibilities.
  • Structured four‑month onboarding program prior to full clinical integration.
Additional Details

APPs in this role independently manage patients while working closely with attending hematologists and the broader interdisciplinary team.

  • Responsibilities include diagnostics, treatment planning, toxicity management, direct patient counseling, care coordination, and procedural skills.
  • Adherence to infection prevention protocols is essential given the immunocompromised nature of the patient population.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.
Administration
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Participate in care coordination activities, including scheduling of tests, procedures, and specialty referrals.
  • Assist with APP coverage needs within the Cellular Therapy / SCT team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research protocols as appropriate.
  • Identify appropriate subspecialist consultations as needed.
