Overview
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center. This is a full‑time day shift position in Charlottesville, VA Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some variation for business needs. No nights or weekends. A sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates.
Infusion CenterThe Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center offers a professional atmosphere where patients receive intravenous infusions and therapeutic injections. Oncology‑certified nurses are trained to administer chemotherapy, biological therapies, or supportive blood transfusions for cancer patients, as well as various infusions for non‑cancer patients. The role focuses on Hem Oncology and Infusion. The center has 25 chairs and handles roughly 14,000 provider visits and 17,000 infusion visits per year.
Education- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Registered Nurse Licensure
- ONC certified RN preferred
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- 2 years of acute nursing preferred
- Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Cancer experience preferred
- Infusion experience preferred
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care, demonstrated through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN should uphold standards of professional performance, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
