UVA Health University Medical Center is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team. Our Nursing Professional Governance Organization (NPGO) Clinical Career Ladder (CCL) supports individual development aligned with goals and nursing practice standards. The CCL fosters engagement, retention, ethical practice, and continuous improvement while contributing to organizational goals.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care consistent with the ANA Nursing:
Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics; apply the UVA Nursing Practice Model. - Deliver Relationship Based Care with self, colleagues, and patients/families to influence patient experience.
- Recognize and respond to patient needs with clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordination, and implementation of care.
- Demonstrate empowered leadership through participation in shared governance.
- Promote lifelong learning and professional development, support onboarding, and precept new team members as applicable.
- Adhere to clinical documentation guidelines, review outcomes data, and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Apply informatics and evidence-based practice to support patient care and nursing research.
- Perform additional duties as assigned as part of the role.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. - Experience:
1 year of relevant experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia;
American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Standing for prolonged periods; frequent walking; bending/stooping. Proficient communication, auditory and visual skills; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood and body fluids, and infectious diseases.
CompensationPay range for this role is $39.90–$53.00 hourly. Compensation will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction require a drug screen.
