, you will practice in a dynamic, high‑acuity environment where critical thinking and collaboration are essential. As part of a leading academic medical center, you will care for neonates requiring complex medical and surgical interventions.

• Deliver comprehensive, family‑centered nursing care to critically ill neonates across a range of acuity levels.
• Perform continuous assessment, monitoring, and intervention for conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, congenital anomalies, and post‑surgical recovery.
• Partner closely with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized care plans.
• Utilize advanced technologies and evidence‑based protocols to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate and support families through highly emotional and complex care journeys.
• Contribute to a fast‑paced, highly specialized unit where clinical expertise and adaptability are essential.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience:

1 year of relevant experience.

Licensure:
Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20‑50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
