American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU) position at an academic medical center, requiring both PICU and NICU experience with Epic proficiency.
Details- This is a Pediatric Float Pool (SRO) position floating to multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med-Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED Boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
- Located within an academic teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 36 or 48 hours available per week
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required per facility float policy
- Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
- Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
- Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be submitted as pending; certificate has an out-of-pocket cost of $185)
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- Must be comfortable working in NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Peds ED settings
- Prior NICU/PICU float pool experience required; candidates without travel experience may be considered if they have prior NICU/PICU float pool experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- BSN preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Valid Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
- Peds PACU experience is highly preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; no RTO will be approved during the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
- No radius rule — local candidates are accepted
- Preferred skills include ECMO, CRRT, congenital heart disease/repair, ICP monitoring, and Pediatric CVICU experience
- Specialty-specific orientation modules are completed during onboarding
