American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma experience and Epic proficiency.

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center - 13-week contract assignment
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Time off cannot be approved around Labor Day
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but must be obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience or 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience required
- Some pediatric experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Two professional references required
- Copies of required certifications required for consideration
- Provide emergency department nursing care within a Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
- Triage skills preferred
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission
- Any vacation time planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to allow for an appropriate start date
- Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have at least 1 year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
