* Position Overview:

** We are seeking compassionate and skilled Peri-Anesthesia Nurses to join our dynamic team providing exceptional care for ambulatory and inpatients in the Pre-Intra-Post Procedure phases for both pediatric and adult patients. This position is specifically based in Non-OR locations, including University Hospital Radiology and Brachytherapy at the Cancer Center, where patients undergo various procedures, treatments, and imaging that require anesthesia.

The role involves working with a high volume of pediatric patients, approximately 75% of the caseload, in addition to adult patients.

* Key Responsibilities:

** Pre-Procedure Care:*
* + Assess patients beforeanesthesiafor procedures, treatments, and imaging.

+ Collect relevant patient history, review medications, allergies, and vital signs.

+ Educate patients and families regardinganesthesiaprocedures, expectations, and recovery.

+ Ensure appropriate preparation foranesthesiaadministration, including pre-anesthetic medications when applicable.

** Intra-Procedure Care:*
* + Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort.

+  
** Post-Procedure Care:*
* + Monitor and assess patients during recovery fromanesthesia, ensuring safe and effective transition to post-procedure recovery.

+ Manage pain and complications post-procedure, providing necessary interventions.

+ Provide discharge instructions and ensure patients and families understand the aftercare process.

** Patient Population:*
* + Pediatric patients (approximately 75%) and adult patients undergoinganesthesiafor procedures, treatments, and imaging.

+ Provide age-appropriate care tailored to the specific needs of pediatric and adult populations.

* + Full-time position with service hours from Monday to Friday, .

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience:

1 year of relevant experience.

Licensure:
Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills;
Attention to detail and ability to write legibly;
Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
