Registered Nurse – PICU

$2937.60/week –

Job Summary:

Seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN to provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients across multiple units. This position requires flexibility to float among pediatric departments and deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients in PICU, NICU, peds medsurg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and hospital policies, including UVAs float policy and Epic documentation requirements.
• Document patient care activities accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
• Provide family education and emotional support to patients’ families.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience with PICU and NICU knowledge required.
• Current PA license or pending license with verification by Wednesday before start date.
• Certification in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS is mandatory.
• Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding certification required or in process, with costs applicable.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Epic electronic health records.
• Ability to work day shifts (4×12 hours) and adapt to float policies and variable schedules.
