American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring NRP certification and 2+ years of NICU experience.
Details- Work in a Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting
- 13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Uses Epic charting system
- Required to work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required, pending license accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP (in-hand at time of consideration)
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be pending, cost of $200)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in neonatal care including UAC/UVC management, high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and ventilator management
- Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and neonatal dosage calculations required
- Two professional references required
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to Level III/IV NICU patients
- Responsibilities include respiratory support, cardiovascular monitoring, GI care, and emergency medication administration
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and chest tube management
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- No time off approved during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Time off not approved for Labor Day weekend
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or travelers must have 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
