American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and 2 years of experience.

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a high-volume hospital averaging 2000 deliveries annually
• Unit includes 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Care for both low-risk (including certified nurse midwife) and high-risk maternal fetal medicine patient populations
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00), 36 or 48 hours per week
• Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby and may float to NICU for feeder/grower cases
• Required to work every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns required
• Two professional references required

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn assessment
• Skilled in magnesium sulfate therapy and management of postpartum hemorrhage
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients preferred
• Experience assisting with circumcision and post-op site assessment preferred
• Experience with tubal ligation procedures preferred
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Maximum 40 hours of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed
• Candidates previously employed by the facility as permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once that threshold is reached
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
