Job Summary:
Provide specialized pediatric care as a PICU Registered Nurse in a dynamic hospital environment. Manage critically ill pediatric patients across multiple units including PICU, NICU, peds Med Surg, peds PACU, peds ED, and postpartum/mother-baby. Ensure high-quality, compassionate care during float assignments with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor pediatric patients in critical care units to identify evolving clinical needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and unit protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Follow hospital policies related to float assignments, unit-specific procedures, and compliance standards.
- Adhere to all certification requirements including BLS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS, ensuring ongoing validity.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years PICU experience with demonstrated pediatric critical care skills.
- Have recent NICU or PICU float pool experience and comfort working across pediatric units.
- Certification in BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP required;
Dr. Brown's Infant Feeding Certification preferred or pending. - Demonstrate proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
- Be willing to work day or night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays.
