American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or II trauma experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a Level I and Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department
- 13-week contract on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but required before start)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience
- Some pediatric experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Nursys license verification required
- References required
- Provide emergency department nursing care including triage of incoming patients
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to offer acceptance
- No additional time off approved after offer acceptance
- Unable to approve time off around Labor Day
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must disclose employment history for review
- Permanent staff or internal travelers returning must have at least 1 year separation and leadership approval
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
- Up to 16 non-billable hours of specialty-specific modules completed during orientation
