American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or II trauma experience and a VA or compact RN license.

• Work in a Level I and Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department
• 13-week contract on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but required before start)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience
• Some pediatric experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Nursys license verification required
• References required

• Provide emergency department nursing care including triage of incoming patients
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to offer acceptance
• No additional time off approved after offer acceptance
• Unable to approve time off around Labor Day
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must disclose employment history for review
• Permanent staff or internal travelers returning must have at least 1 year separation and leadership approval
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
• Up to 16 non-billable hours of specialty-specific modules completed during orientation
