American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
- 13-week contract assignment
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Every other holiday required, with no time off approved around Labor Day
- Uses Epic EMR
- Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required, pending licenses accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending at submission but required before start)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience required, including some pediatric experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Provide emergency department nursing care including triage of patients
- Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Specialty-specific modules completed during orientation, recorded in Workday
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached
- No radius rule applies to this position
