American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring a VA or compact license and Epic experience.
Details- Float pool position covering various med/surg and telemetry units across acute care nursing areas
- Potential float units include Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Neurology, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Heme/Onc, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, Digestive Health, Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit, and ED Boarders
- Does not include ICU or IMU critical care/intermediate care float assignments
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Schedules of 36 or 48 hours per week may be offered
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted with restrictions)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Telemetry work setting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice
- Provide direct patient care while floating across multiple acute care units based on staffing needs
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules recorded in Workday
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health employment as permanent staff or traveler must be disclosed; 1-year separation and leadership approval required for rehire
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply with a preference for candidates who have varied clinical background experience
