Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 36 or 48 hours per week | 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a unit averaging approximately 2,000 annual deliveries, including both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations
• Work within a unit featuring 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms, supporting a certified nurse midwife population
• Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby and may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
• Adhere to facility floating policies and float within scope of practice as needed
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and every other weekend

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Fetal Monitoring certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• BSN preferred
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and maternal fetal medicine populations
• Experience in Mother/Baby or NICU settings (feeders/growers)

• Opportunity for an extended assignment through early 2027 in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
• Work in a dynamic environment supporting both low-risk and high-risk obstetric populations alongside certified nurse midwives and maternal fetal medicine specialists
