American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of inpatient case management experience and either Epic or travel nursing experience.
Details- Acute care hospital inpatient Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Every 4th weekend required
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required; pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start date
- BLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care case management experience required
- Epic EMR experience or previous travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Nursys verification required for consideration
- References required for consideration
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
- Medical-surgical specialty experience preferred
- Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; all time off must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
- Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
- Previous UVA Health employees (permanent staff or internal/external travelers) must disclose prior employment; a 1-year separation and leadership approval is required for former staff or internal travelers
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
- Specialty-specific orientation modules are completed during onboarding
- First-time travelers may be considered given required acute care case management and Epic or travel experience
