Registered Nurse – Oncology

Charlottesville, VA | Inpatient Acute Care

Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Extended assignment available through early 2027

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Support patients in a 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU) as needed
• Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with unit protocols and ONS certification standards
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to other units per facility float policy
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including every other weekend and 2 out of 3 winter holidays

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required — must be obtained prior to start date (candidates with cert pending may be considered depending on experience)
• BLS certification required
• Epic electronic health records experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

• ACLS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in hematology/oncology or stem cell transplant settings
• Completion of ONS Fundamentals may be requested by the manager depending on candidate experience level

• Opportunity to work in a specialized inpatient oncology and stem cell transplant environment with a structured, supportive care team
• Longer-term contract availability provides stability and continuity in a high-acuity clinical setting
