Registered Nurse – Oncology

Charlottesville, VA | Inpatient Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend, every other holiday

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Support patients on a 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU) as needed
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with unit protocols
• Float within scope of practice to other units as required per facility policy
• Document all patient care activities accurately using the Epic electronic health record system

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required — must be attached at time of submittal (pending certification accepted provided it is completed before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must adhere to facility float policy; travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at submission

• ACLS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience in hematology/oncology or stem cell transplant nursing
• Completion of ONS Fundamentals (may be required at manager's discretion depending on experience)

• Work within a specialized inpatient oncology and stem cell transplant environment at a leading academic medical facility
• Flexible weekly hour options (36 or 48 hours) to support work-life balance during your 13-week assignment
