American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring NRP certification and at least 2 years of NICU experience.
Details- Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- 13-week assignment length with 36 or 48 hour weekly options
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Epic EMR experience required
- 3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Active VA state RN license or compact license (pending accepted)
- BLS and NRP certifications required and must be in-hand at time of consideration
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be pending)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC lines, and central line care
- Experience with neonatal dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and IV vasopressors
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Two professional references required
- BSN preferred
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to Level III/IV NICU patients
- Perform IV therapy, central/implanted line care, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture
- Manage chest tubes and tracheostomy care as needed
- Care for patients with gastrointestinal conditions including colostomy/ileostomy management and post-abdominal surgery recovery
- Time off requests limited to a maximum of 40 hours per contract
- Time off not approved during the first two weeks of the assignment or around the Christmas holiday
- Previous UVA permanent staff or traveler employment requires a 1-year separation and leadership approval prior to consideration
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
- No radius restriction for this unit
