American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring NRP certification and at least 2 years of Level III NICU experience.
Details- Level III/IV NICU setting within a teaching hospital
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- 13 or 26 week assignment length options
- Required to work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required, NRP must be in-hand at time of consideration
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Proficiency in neonatal skills including UAC/UVC care, high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide administration, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with central line/implanted line care, IV therapy, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Two professional references required
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic support
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
- Time off requests limited to a maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- No time off approved during the first two weeks of the assignment or around the Christmas holiday
- Any vacation time between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed in advance
- Previous UVA Health employees (permanent staff or travelers) must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
