American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with Level III/IV NICU experience for a day-shift assignment requiring BLS, NRP, and a VA or compact RN license.
Details- Level III/IV NICU setting
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Epic EMR experience required
- 3 weekends required within each 6-week scheduling period
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Active VA or compact RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications required in-hand
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- BSN preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide (iNO), and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with UAC/UVC, central/implanted line care, and IV therapy
- Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and IV vasopressors
- Two professional references required
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic management
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and manage chest tubes and tracheostomy care
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, with none approved during the first two weeks of the assignment or around the Christmas holiday
- Previous UVA permanent staff or traveler employment requires a minimum 1-year separation and leadership approval
- Travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once that threshold is reached
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
