Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients, including both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations
• Support a certified nurse midwife patient population within a low-risk care model
• Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby unit and may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
• Work within a unit averaging approximately 2,000 annual deliveries, utilizing 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Adhere to rotating holiday schedule, including every other holiday and every other weekend, with a requirement to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Fetal Monitoring certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

• BSN preferred
• Experience in Mother/Baby or NICU (feeder/grower level) settings
• Prior travel nursing experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery environment

• Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving both low-risk and high-risk patient populations
• Gain cross-training experience across multiple women's health care settings within a single assignment
