American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS certification and prior PICU experience with a VA or compact license.

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with night shifts (4x12, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hour schedules available
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• 3 weekends required per six-week schedule
• May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• Current BLS and PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• Two professional references required
• Proficiency in respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI critical care skills including ventilator management, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and central line care

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU and, as needed, NICU or Acute Care Pediatrics units
• Float assignments will be within scope of practice
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no additional time off approved after offer acceptance
• Time off cannot be scheduled during the first 2 weeks of the contract
• Any vacation planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to submission
• Former UVA permanent staff or internal/external travelers require a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
