in Charlottesville, Virginia is a 4 doctor practice providing General Practice and Urgent Care services. We’re seeking an additional, experienced veterinarian who enjoys treating a diverse range of cases with a highly skilled team!

Hollymead Veterinary Hospital has deep community ties. Formerly known as VETSS (Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialty Services), our hospital provided emergency services to the Charlottesville community for over 30 years. In 2018, as the landscape of veterinary care evolved, we began shifting towards urgent care and general practice services. Our rebrand to Hollymead Veterinary Hospital marks a thoughtful shift to better represent the care we provide today and celebrates our deep-rooted connection to our local community.

Our core mission at Hollymead is to empower pet owners with the knowledge to make informed decisions in a supportive environment that enhances the health, well-being, and happiness of pets and families alike.

• 7 driven and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technicians with additional assistants currently pursuing licensure
• LVTs are leveraged so DVM’s can focus on cases and client communication
• Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician has several years of experience in the field within a leadership role; very skilled with surgery and emergency
• Solution-focused Certified Veterinary Practice Manager who is a people first leader and keen operator who does not shy away from difficult conversations
• Excellent culture and low turnover team that collaborates extremely well with one another
• Strong support from VETSS Regional Manager who obtained her CVPM in 2022
• Several team members who are fear free certified and RECOVER certified
• Spacious, 5,600 sq ft facility. Treatment area structured for optimized flow and hospitalized patient care and visibility
• Companion focused with opportunity to see exotics
• New ultrasound unit, cautery and dental suite
• Dedicated, compliant clientele
• Close to the mountains and Shenandoah Valley. Driving distance to DC, Richmond and Virginia Beach for fun weekend trips

• Full-time or part-time, experienced veterinarian interested in a caseload of approximately 50% general practice, 50% urgent care
• Collaborative teammate who keeps up to date on new developments in medicine and patient care

• Full-time, experienced veterinarian base salary : $145-175k. Commensurate with skillset, experience, schedule and your preferred pace.
• Earning potential on monthly, no negative accrual bonus plan: $220k+
• Additional opportunities to earn :
  Highly competitive monthly, no negative accrual bonus plan. Bonus plan is not mandatory (for candidates preferring straight salary). Equity opportunity available starting early 2025.
• Relocation stipend
• Bonus in exchange for multi-year commitment negotiable; commensurate with length of commitment, skillset and schedule commitment
